Liu Hai Su art museum service club promotes the vision of a historically and artistically literate society by volunteering at art museums as tour guides, photographers, art workshop helpers, and translators. It usually meets at Liu Hai Su art museum on Sundays from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. We are an organization that spans across SAS and SHSID and last year we were able to give over three hundred hours of service to the museum. The club is a wonderful organization which carries on the legacy of Liu Hai Su–arguably modern China’s greatest painter and art educator–by serving at museums and enlightening visitors to the massive importance of art and history not only to our society, but to our daily lives as well. The museum itself is also an important outlet for the artistic expression of many art colleges in Shanghai, with temporary exhibitions being held on a monthly basis.
We believe that in bringing our vision to our surrounding community, we can foster a more creative and flexible society that will be better equipped to face the challenges of the future.
